Reproducing of the National Treasure,”Kujaku Myo’o (Mahamayuri)Hanging Scroll

Two years ago I attended the “Course of reproducing of the National Treasure “Mahamayuri Hanging Scroll” at the Japanese National Museum from Ueno Park (Tokyo). I was quite surprise to see that their technique “kirikane” is similar to Byzantine Icons ‘s gold leaf technique.
